Meet Our Team: Kathryn Nicholson

Kathryn Nicholson joined Crystal Flash in 2005 as a Customer Service Representative. Early in her tenure, she also worked on special projects for several other departments, including Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting and more.

As her career with CF evolved, Kathryn eventually moved into a key role in the Safety Department. Years of experience and leadership led to a promotion to Senior Safety Manager in 2021. It’s important to note here that “Safety for People and the Environment” is one of Crystal Flash’s foundational values — and while safely transporting/delivering fuels and propane can be complex, it must remain paramount. For this reason, Kathryn’s role is akin to being a “teacher” at Crystal Flash. She notes that she greatly enjoys finding ways to make the necessary, ongoing, training interesting and fun.

Kathryn grew up in northern Florida, moving to the Grand Rapids area in February of 1995, where she still resides today. As you can imagine, there was a big adjustment when it came to the Michigan weather. As Kathryn points out, “Luckily, winter didn’t last too long that year.”

She has two children (Gretchen and Jake), both in high school. She also has the most adorable rescue, Seamus, a 13-year-old Labrador. Kathryn loves to travel and has been fortunate to have visited 34 states and 6 countries (and counting). She enjoys crafting, puzzles and has an extensive Lego collection.

When asked to share a parting comment, she emphatically offers, “Go Green!”
