Important Update Regarding Off-Road Diesel Usage

We want to inform our customers about recent Federal policy developments regarding fuel regulations.

While Executive Action at the federal level has proposed deferring taxes on off-road (dyed) diesel and permitting its use for on-road transportation, the State of Michigan has not yet made a decision to adopt or participate in this tax deferral or usage policy.

Because fuel tax regulations and dyed-diesel usage laws are governed at both the federal and state levels, the use of off-road diesel in on-road vehicles remains illegal under current Michigan state law. Standard penalties and fines for unauthorized dyed-diesel usage in on-road vehicles are still in effect across the state.

We are monitoring state guidance closely for additional developments. In the meantime, all on-road commercial and passenger vehicles must continue using standard clear diesel fuel.
